About
Me
Hello! I'm Jada Holmes, my family and close friends call me "Jay." I'm a digital journalist based in Kalamazoo, MI, with a passion for storytelling and connecting with people. I graduated from western michigan university with a BA in Interpersonal Communication and a minor in Journalism. My time at western has given me the skills to not only write compelling stories but also to deeply understand and connect with the people I interview. Right now i do free lance work, connecting with nonprofits in the community like soul artistry llc and helping hands wellness center to help elevate their social media presence with my videography skills. My passion lies in capturing raw, genuine emotions and shedding light on the experiences of misrepresented communities. Currently, I work as a Social Media Manager for BlackMagic Media. (BMM) BMM is a small event planning and media business. In this role, I have honed my skills in content creation, writing, digital strategy, and community engagement. I am a self starter that wants to step outside of my comfort zone and continually perfect my digital journalism abilities.

Mission
statement
I believe that storytelling is a powerful tool for bridging gaps and fostering understanding between different worlds within the same community. I am dedicated to using my voice to remind others our differences are what make life exciting.
